When Should You Book Your Wedding Music"?

When it comes to wedding planning timelines are extremely important. Timelines help let you know when to complete what to ensure that all the important details come together seamlessly for the big day. When wedding planning, waiting too long to book something can sometimes result in having to pick your plan “B” option. So when it comes to wedding music, how early do you need to book your ensemble?

This depends on a few variables. One, how popular is your wedding day? Saturdays are the most popular wedding day in the US. Two, what month are you getting married? Depending on who you ask, peak wedding season is between June and October, with late August/Early September being the busiest. Third, how popular is your wedding band? Ensembles that are in high demand are booked further in advance.

So what does this all mean in terms of timeline? If you are planning your wedding during the peak season, on a peak day, with a high demand band, you’ll need to start extra early. We recommend booking everything a year out. If you are outside of peak period we recommend around 7-8 months before the wedding. However, if you are choosing an ensemble that is in high demand you may want to start earlier. Personally, I am a fan of booking your wedding music as soon as you have your venue booked. If you know what you want, why wait? But before you book your band, be sure to read our tips for how to get the most out of your wedding music!

Cheers!
